Boys State Committee
Helps schools select candidates, ensures they attend Boy's State Dinner at Post 76.

Monitors and ensures necessary improvements & repairs are made to our historic building and grounds.

Communications Committee
Handles Newsletter Publication, Web Site, Special Event Publicity, Public Relations Tasks, Member Photos, and Historical Documentation.

Elevator Committee
Will research and contract with a elevator installation company. It will supervise construction of same. The purpose is to provide Ballroom access for wheelchair veterans and civilians as well as utility for Rentals needing to move everything from food carts & sound equipment to ice sculptures & large wedding cakes.

Finance Committee
Reviews Post Financial Statements, future expenditures and conducts annual audit.

Honor Guard & Ceremonials
Rehearses for upcoming events & flag ceremonies. Trains with M1 Rifles, flags and bugle for volley firing, funeral services, civic events & parades. Legionnaires should just show up to join. Great way to still serve in uniform. The Honor Guard trains at 1800 hrs prior to each months "Members Meeting".

Junior Shooting Committee
Develops Jr Shooting Program. Teaches Basic Marksmanship, prepares for practices and matches, builds target frames and other range duties.

Legislative Committee
Promotes the official legislative mandates of Travis Post 76. Establishes and maintains liaison with elected officials. All activities are in compliance with Section 2, Article II of the Constitution of The American Legion: "The American Legion shall be absolutely non-political and shall not be used for the dissemination of partisan principles nor for the promotion of the candidacy of any person seeking public office or preferment."

Membership Committee
Creates and implements Membership Recruitment & Activation programs.

Oratorical Committee
Sends information to High schools, contacts schools to recruit contestants, provides information and assistance to contestants, attends contests to provide support.

Social Committee
Plans monthly social events; schedules guest speakers, plans menus, ensures food is ordered and delivered, organizes setup and take-down. (AKA the "party gang"!)

Veterans Service Committee
Service Officer assists in important duties both during war time and following the termination of hostilities. Helps with filing claims, securing medical assistance, pension issues & job leads.
Chaplain monitors and visits ailing comrades. Committee works together for funeral service needs to include such important items from procuring a US Flag to Chaplain services.
